The use of any vehicle on a road, whether it be for
private or in connection with a business, is Governed by Road Traffic
Legislation, which Is itself made up of a very large number of Acts,
Regulations, Orders and now EEC Directives.
For the private individual, the main categories are
those relating to the construction and maintenance of the vehicle, taxation,
driving licensing, speed, the manner of driving tachographs, plating and
testing, operator licensing etc.
Once however you start moving very large vehicles and
loads from one place to another then you come into the area of special types
and all its ancillary rules and regulations.
To understand all these Acts and Regulations is an
impossible task but due to his vast knowledge and experience, Mike is available
for consultation, advice or training in any aspect of traffic legislation.
Subject to certain exemptions operators, licensing
applies to all goods vehicles and vehicle combinations which exceed 3.5 tonnes
gross vehicle weight, used for the carriage of goods in connection with a trade
or business.
EEC Directives require operators of such vehicles to
be professionally competent in that the operator , or a person employed has
achieved certain standards and holds a Certificate of Professional Competence
(CPC) or some other professional qualification recognised by the
authorities.
Mike is the holder of such a qualification, and is
willing to act as CPC holder should anyone require cover for the short time, or
should you require that extra tuition or information to get you through the
examination, give Mike a ring or e - mail him for further information
